Summary
An unidentified vessel struck Chevron’s satellite well structure No. 138, shearing the wellhead and rupturing a gas lift line. Dry gas escaped, with no injuries or pollution reported. The investigation attributed the collision probably to loss of vessel control; weather and navigational-aid performance remained undetermined.
