Summary
This investigation records a hydrogen sulphide gas release from ruptured three-quarter-inch piping attached to a glycol vessel on Platform Hidalgo’s production deck. The vessel operated at approximately 1285 psi with approximately 19,500 ppm H2S. Gas detection initiated an alarm and emergency shutdown; similar piping was undergoing ultrasonic non-destructive inspection.
