Summary
A production-platform fire followed separator gas blowby, an inadequately rated shutdown valve and flotation-cell overflow onto a transformer. Emergency vent gas subsequently ignited, briefly engulfing the platform. The alert describes deluge protection, firefighting and corrective changes to equipment, shutdown arrangements and vent routing; no injuries and minimal damage were reported.
