Summary
An alert describes gas flow after surface casing cementing, increasing annulus pressure and subsequent gas emergence from adjacent wells. The platform was safely evacuated. Investigators identified probable cement-density regression and/or channel formation associated with delayed pumping. MMS recommends prompt cement pumping after landing casing and circulating at least one casing volume.
Classifications: Well control; kick control; loss of well control.
Classifications: Well integrity; well life cycle integrity.
Classifications: Drilling; well drilling.
Classifications: Operating and work procedures.
Classifications: Upstream oil and gas; oil and gas extraction; upstream petroleum.
Summary
