Summary
An offshore rig employee’s leg sore enlarged and began discharging fluid by the following day. Medical consultation identified a spider bite as the probable cause. Treatment included antibiotics and hospital assessment, followed by removal of damaged tissue and skin grafting because of extensive underlying tissue damage.
