Summary
A third-party crane was lowering a rig sub-base while its operator used a mobile phone. Apparent sling slack preceded sudden loading after the last stabiliser pin was removed. The extended boom buckled, and the floor section fell approximately 12–14 ft. A crewman rode the load down without injury; the area was subsequently barricaded.
