Summary
BSEE investigates a crane lift on the Nabors MODS 140 rig in which a stinger hook struck a walkway handrail. The detached handrail fell approximately 75 ft, causing no injuries. Findings identify excessively long slings, absent designated signalling and inadequate communication between the driller and crane operator.
