Summary
Investigation of Deepwater Asgard’s loss of position during Hurricane Zeta while connected to a well. Emergency disconnection succeeded, but the marine riser and lower marine riser package sustained damage, including seabed impacts. Findings address inaccurate forecasts, the decision to remain connected, delayed well securing and subsequent storm-preparation changes.
