Summary
A Gulf of Mexico shallow gas blowout was diverted through port and starboard lines. Generator exhaust sparks were observed while mud and gas flowed; a flash fire followed drainage of the closed port diverter line. Water extinguished the fire without damage, and an exhaust-mounted spray nozzle was installed to prevent recurrence.
