Read at BSEEOpens the publisher’s page on bsee.gov

Summary

A semisubmersible rig was evacuated after gas escaped from its subsea BOP stack during kick circulation. A non-conforming ring gasket failed to seal, and escaping fluids damaged a hydraulic line, preventing BOP operation and riser release. The alert records the operator’s planned gasket quality controls and flange-standoff verification procedures.
