Radio Antenna Contacts High Voltage Power Lines

Summary

During transport of a rig camp, a newly fitted radio antenna on the rig manager’s office building contacted a 22,000-volt overhead power line crossing the road. The antenna was severely damaged and the carrying truck lost two tyres. Nobody was injured; the company classified the event as a high-potential near miss.
