Summary
An offshore derrick elevator’s rubber bumper stopper detached from its mounting bracket and fell 20 m onto the Hydraracker upper level. The 600 g component was assessed using the DROPS calculator as potentially fatal. No personnel were in the area and no injuries were reported.
