Summary
An engine room fire was probably caused by leaking hydraulic oil spraying onto an inadequately insulated exhaust flange. Carbon dioxide brought the fire under control, but the ship lost power and was towed to port. The flash highlights hot-spot identification, insulation reinstatement after maintenance and relevant SOLAS requirements.
