Summary
During a functionality test following limit-switch adjustment, a trapped remote control wire released a lifeboat’s static brake before the davit was fully boomed out. The unoccupied boat caught on its fender, swung against the vessel and descended to the water. The flash recommends keeping remote wires clear of sheaves and other rigging.
