Summary
Investigation synopsis of an LPG explosion aboard Lord Trenchard at Poole Harbour. Gas escaped through a slack bottle connector and migrated into the generator hold through non-gas-tight locker penetrations. Starting the generator ignited it, seriously damaging the vessel and costing the skipper his left leg above the knee. Gas detection and certification shortcomings are noted.
