Summary
Investigation of Jasper III’s flooding and sinking during pair trawling on 10 September 1999. Water ingress exceeded bilge-pump capacity and spread beyond the engine room through deficient watertight subdivision. The source remained unidentified, although corrosion-related failure was considered probable. All crew were rescued; recommendations addressed report circulation and fishing-vessel survey procedures.
