Summary
BSEE investigated an electrical failure aboard Ensco 8502 during drilling in Green Canyon 237. Loss of four thrusters led to vessel drift and emergency disconnection. The disconnect system operated as designed, but approximately 150 barrels of SBM escaped from drill pipe and hoses. No injuries occurred; the well remained secure and undamaged.
