Summary
BSEE investigates a synthetic-based mud leak during drilling by Deepwater Nautilus on 18 December 2011. Approximately 319 barrels were calculated lost. ROV inspection located the boost-line leak, which isolation stopped. Analysis identified pin-surface scratches as the most likely cause of the primary leak; the district made no recommendations to the Agency.
