Summary
An offshore drilling rig fire followed heat damage to a diesel fuel hose from a leaking exhaust. Escaping fuel ignited on the exhaust pipe, damaging equipment without personnel injury. The operator replaced hoses with metallic piping where possible, relocated flexible loops away from exhausts and reinspected exhausts for leakage.
