Summary

A wind-blown temporary tarpaulin ignited against an uninsulated diesel-engine muffler. Heat damaged needle-valve seats on a gas lift header, allowing gas to spread the platform fire. The alert describes pipeline isolation and subsequent changes to exhaust insulation, header location, shut-off arrangements, valve seats and shelters.
