Summary
Investigation of an estimated six–seven cubic metres of crude oil released during Statfjord tanker loading. It examines through-wall pitting in loading-hose nipples, seawater-filling practices, maintenance and change-management deficiencies. No unambiguous corrosion mechanism was established. The report also assesses detection, response barriers and dispersant permissions; high winds prevented assessed clean-up measures.
