Summary
During drill-pipe laydown, breakout tongs slipped onto pipe in the rotary unnoticed. An employee reaching into the Red Zone for a tail rope was struck in the chest as the tongs swung, then fell after hitting a laydown post. Crew and medical responses prevented more serious complications.
