Summary
This investigation synopsis describes a cannon reloading demonstration aboard the replica frigate Grand Turk at Portsmouth. Following the noon firing, crew swabbed the barrel, used a wormer and inserted another charge. A bang occurred as a 17-year-old crew member rammed the charge against the breech, leaving his hands burnt and bleeding.
