Summary
A compressor engine inspection led to a fire when an arc from a disconnected spark plug wire ignited leaking starter gas. A loose pipe union and worn starter valve were identified. The operator planned revised exhaust piping, valve component replacement and spark-free ignition checks. No personnel were injured.
