Summary
Random Harvest flooded while returning from an angling trip off Brighton in rough seas. Emergency bilge pumping contained the ingress. The investigation identified dezincification failure of a brass toilet seawater inlet fitting, probably accelerated by stray electric currents, and made recommendations addressing vessel improvements, standards, survey guidance and supplier descriptions.
