Summary
BSEE investigates a compressor fire at the offshore South Timbalier Block 52 complex. Liquid intrusion caused hydraulic overpressure and expelled a variable pocket adjuster, releasing gas that ignited; the exact ignition source remained unidentified. Compromised separator internals contributed. Operators extinguished the fire, and corrective actions included separator inspections and scheduled filter replacement.
